Nine students visited from Holleman Elementary, from nearby Waller ISD, this November. Students have been visiting SIRE as part of an initiative underwritten by “Driven to Care,” a charitable arm of the Discount Tire Company.

Hockley Friends and Family Chairperson Julie McLean (upper righthand photo) estimates around 200 attended the Family Day November 2014. She adds, “Kelly and Bobby Marsh worked so hard!”.

To raise $18,000 in honor of the veterans riding at SIRE,128 golfers braved bitter winds at the Willow Fork Club this month. Teams came from Demontrond, AimPoint, Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ, and more. Champion Restoration of Katy topped all teams to win first place and a complimentary round

A glorious dawn welcomed hundreds of riders and volunteers to the 22nd Annual CGG Saddle Up! for SIRE Ride-a-thon, Saturday October 18th. Having a trail ride fundraiser seemed especially appropriate since SIRE exists to bring horses and people with disabilities together, working to improve quality of life through therapeutic horsemanship.

The Spring site is mourning the recent loss of their horse Casper to a bout of Colic. Casper, a Paint with a white face and striking blue eyes, was donated to SIRE in April 2014 and began working in our program during the summer semester.
