SIRE Therapeutic Horsemanship commemorated 35 years of transforming the lives of people with special needs through horse therapy and that intuitive connection between horse and human by achieving its $200,000 fundraising goal at SIRE Under the Stars, April 5, at River Oaks Country Club.

Carol and Jim Farnsworth and Mary Elizabeth Wise Sand co-chaired the western chic-themed event that honored Jana and Scotty Arnoldy for their community contributions. With their deep affinity for horses, the couple shares SIRE’s understanding in the inherent connection between horse and human and the therapeutic benefits of riding. At least 15 of SIRE’s specially trained horses—nearly half of its herd—were sponsored with $5,000 designated gifts to underwrite their feeding and veterinary and farrier care for a year. There are still several horses needing a sponsor. Please consider sponsoring one today! Sponsor a horse

More than 185 guests reveled in the festivities, which included on-site welcomes from four of SIRE’s horses and entertainment by country artist Aaron McDonnell.
