PASS THE HAT…to help SIRE
Kinsman Lutheran Church in Northwest Houston has selected SIRE as the Charity of Choice during fundraising efforts for their annual summer children’s musical, “KiKi’s Hats”. They will be passing the hat for donation dollars during their presentation of the musical on August 20, 2011 at 7 PM. The kids in the production will be making a visit to SIRE so that they have a vested interest in the organization that they are raising money for. SIRE rider Casey Aulenbach is a member of Kinsman Lutheran and is part of the inspiration for their generous giving this year.
Lynnae Schatz, Director of Congregational Life at Kinsman Lutheran, is directing this year’s musical, which is written by Warren Hanson, a Kinsman member, and has been adapted by Mr. Hanson into the debut musical this year. Mr. Hanson’s book, KiKi’s Hats, can be previewed at his web site.
Additionally, SIRE requests assistance in knitting and crocheting hats to contribute to this festive cause; they are hoping to gather 1,000 hats, so your help would be appreciated!
