From the desk of a SIRE Volunteer Coordinator (also known as the Best Job in the World!)

Chrisi had contacted me about volunteering. Joelle, as you know because you have met so many of them, I always invite all prospective volunteers to come to Sienna so they can meet me (or another SIRE rep), observe a class, take a tour and ask questions. In light of that explanation, I pass this email along to show how nothing works better in selling SIRE than seeing it in action! What a wonderful first impression for Chrisi to have by being welcomed so graciously by P.J. The idea that P.J. could be gracious to anyone at that hour after the incredibly long day and travel she had speaks volumes about the commitment and quality of the SIRE staff. We all know we have an incredible staff….and this is an example of Spreading the Word and Passing the Passion. P.J.’s passion inspired Chrisi’s passion into wanting to help us help others. I think that is the very reason any of us do what we do here at SIRE. I do want to acknowledge and thank Joe Welsh for coming out to help P.J. and helping me by subbing at the last minute. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to help while he was here. Awesome!
As I sit here at the computer, wondering how I’m going to find all the subs I need for this Saturday, I received this email and my heart was flooded with….”we all do what we do and can do in the moment for our riders”! This letter so beautifully summed that up for me. The beauty is reaching out and helping others have the best life they can have. To me, that is what SIRE does each and every day.
So, I am believing that million dollar donor is just around the corner. We will be able to hire more staff, more horses, more students, and see more smiling faces! We found an ice machine, so I know we can find a $1,000,000 donor! What is life all about if we can’t dream something really big and wonderful and believe it can come true?
