SIRE - Houston Therapeutic Riding Center

:: client info ::

In order to provide the best therapeutic benefit and the safest environment to our clients, SIRE has established some minimal guidelines for acceptance into the SIRE program. First, it is preferred that clients be at least 3 years of age.

SIRE offers five 7- to 8-week semesters in the Spring and Fall. A calendar of scheduled classes for the current semester is avalable.

Tuition for Developmental or Riding Skills classes is $55. Example: 8 week session of Developmental or Riding Skills classes will be (8 x $55) $440. Tuition may be paid in full or in two monthly installments. Reduced tuition is available through the completion of an application which can be requested when you are notified of a ride time. Contact the SIRE office by telephone, fax or email to obtain an enrollment packet, or click here to download it. Then print a copy and mail or fax the completed forms, with signatures, to SIRE. The client’s physician will need to complete the Medical History and sign the Physician Release.

Once the registration forms and the $50 fee are received, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for your evaluation. Please review the list of contraindications in the packet. If the client has one or more of these conditions, therapeutic riding may not be recommended. The instructor will not approve the client’s enrollment, and the $50 fee is not refundable. Please all if you have any questions concerning these contraindications.

Finally, upon completion of the evaluation, the client will be assigned a riding time or placed on a waiting list. If it becomes necessary to place a client on a waiting list, you will be contacted when a riding time becomes available.
